What are holidays like as a single mom?

I’m lucky enough to have had my mom come down and spend the weekend with Maddie πŸ₯°

I knew I was scheduled to work for months ahead, and when you share custody, you have to pick and choose the battles πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ So this wasn’t one I wanted to fight over. I just happened to have Maddie by default because her dad is deployed.

About 3 weeks ago, I picked out several small gifts for Maddie, like LOL surprise gifts, bath bombs and candy. I figured I would use one of her old baskets, and I thought I had some extra grass and wrapping from last year… but it turned out that I didn’t πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I ended up using instacart to deliver a few last minute supplies to work so I could finish her basket (which ended up being 2 baskets because I couldn’t fit everything in her one small basket πŸ˜…).

Miss Maddie and Grandma got lots of quality time together over the weekend where Grandma is training her to be her baking assistant 😊. They also got some time to play outside at the park and swimming in the pool where Maddie is now able to swim in the deep end!

I built the baskets at work on Saturday, and after consulting with my mom, we decided to tell her that the Easter bunny came to my work to bring her basket 😊She was pretty happy!

Grandma did the egg hunt while I was at work, which worked out because it was raining when I got home. Overall it was a pretty calm day for a day that I had to work.

Holidays look pretty different for us these days compared to what I used to do growing up. I have to say that I don’t miss the stress of what the Holidays used to be like though. I really enjoy being in Florida and relaxing and ordering food and usually swimming!

All this could change once the house is done though πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
