Here are a few of the things that happen regularly that drive me nuts:
- Maddie can literally not use the bathroom for over 8 hours at times, she is the exact opposite of me in this way… but ya know what will make her realize how she has to go potty? Me sitting on the toilet trying to have some alone time. This has literally gotten her out of bed in the past… any time I sit there for longer than it takes me to pee causes her sensor to go off.
- It doesn’t matter what I’m eating, she must taste it. Sometimes I purposefully hide somewhere she can’t see to try to savor something alone… sometimes I even go to the great lengths of snacking in the middle of the night to just eat and enjoy something alone and in peace!
- Do you enjoy rapid-fire questions while driving (specifically while trying to merge or do something else that requires all your brain power and attention behind the wheel?! ESPECIALLY living in Jacksonville: aka: where all the world’s worst drivers come to drive into each other π¬π π€¦ββοΈ) And why is it that majority of these questions require a Google search?!? WHYYY when I’m driving?!?
- Why can’t I ever sit down in peace for even a minute?!? Does sitting on the couch automatically mean that I am available for all the things ?!?(to include, but not limited to): I want a snack/I’m thirsty/Can I make lemonade?!/I want a lollipop- no, not that one, the one in the basket on the roof, but to the left and under the turtle π)/can you get me crab legs?! No, not those crab legs, I want butter for them, butter gives me the runs… no crab legs hurt my tummy/why don’t we have crab legs?!/can I have another ice pop?/can we bake a cake?!? What about making brownies?!? (Girlfriend: do I look like your pastry-chef grandma?!?) π¬π€¦ββοΈπ³
- Anyone else fight their kids on hygiene?!? Miss Maddie LOVES water in every form… but the second we have to introduce soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash or toothpaste… π³π«π€¦ββοΈπ³…. it’s a huge fight!!! And even though she will be 6 in just a few months… she literally acts like washing her hair is something new that I invented just to torture her!!! SHE WILL BE SIX YEARS OLD IN NOVEMBER!!! WHEN DOES THIS END veteran mothers?!?!
I’m sure I’m not alone… anyone want to share any of their least favorite parenting tasks/moments?!
