Miss Maddie insisted we give Kevin a birthday party for his second birthday (which was yesterday: August 26th). She has been asking when his birthday is since we got him, and last year I thought it was in early September- but then I looked it up and it’s Aug 26th 😬. By the time I realized last year, the date passed 🤪 so this year I had it on my calendar. I was also working my 3rd shift in a row, so when she asked earlier in the week to do something, I wasn’t too keen on the idea. However, I thought about it for a few days and decided even though I’m annoyed by him, she loves him and really wanted him to have a little party and a nice day. So I took her to target last night to let her get a few presents for him, a cake mix to bake a cake, and a few small party favors (like the hats in the pics 🤣). My mom also knows how much she loves to give presents, so she ordered her a birthday box from Chewy so she would have stuff to give Ole Kevirs ❤️.
Kevin was not a fan of the cake (and I’m sure most sane people reading this will think “duh” however, this cat is continually stealing food from us that I NEVER thought cats ate 😳 and he eats a lot of it, or mushes it all over one of the 3 small rugs in the apartment 😬) even though Maddie put treats on top 🤔. So that was interesting… seems like Ole Kevirs only wants human food when it’s off limits to him! Not sure if this is normal cat behavior because I grew up with dogs 😅🤣.
