It’s been at the top of my bucket list for over 2 decades!
A few friends and I were going to move there in our 20’s on work visas, but life happened and none of us were able to save enough to go and feel comfortable if we didn’t get jobs right away.
I then planned to visit there for my honeymoon, but getting married while active duty to someone who was also active duty made it difficult to take a honeymoon right after we got married. Then I thought I would go on the honeymoon after I had my daughter, but I thought that before she was born 🙃
Maddie was born in 2016 and I was separated from her dad by the beginning of 2019 and divorced in 2021, so the honeymoon never happened.
My current plan is to take Maddie when she’s a teenager for a few weeks, so she will be old enough to remember it, and hopefully it will still be cool to her to travel with me 😀
